Success at CW Mobile Broadband SIG Event
On Wednesday 6th April we served up a double-dose of events for our members at St Johns College, Cambridge.
During the day was our Mobile Broadband Special Interest Group (SIG) event ”The Connected Car: The Next 500 Million Connections” which saw presentations from Mike Bell , Global Connected Car Director at Jaguar Land Rover, Uwe Pützschler, Head of Car2x at Nokia Solutions and Networks Deutschland GmbH, Phil Skipper, Head of M2M Business Development at Vodafone Machine-to-Machine (M2M), Moeen Khawaja, Director & COO at Thingful and Andy Dumbell, Managing Director at Control F1, i-MOTORS.
The focus of the day was to explore what mobile broadband networks mean for the connected car, from OTA software updates to in-car media & entertainment. The range of speakers sought for this event allowed for an interesting day of discussion. A snippet of the presentations can be found below but for the full presentations, please head across to our resources page here.
Following the SIG event, we welcomed Founder Members into the magnificent St Johns College dining hall for the anticipated Spring Founders Dinner – always a great opportunity to network and meet new Founder members. CEO Phil Smith, Chief Executive, UK and Ireland, Cisco was our after dinner keynote speaker (pictured below) who pointed out out the vital role the technology industry has to play in boosting the productivity of all UK sectors.
The next Founders Dinner isn’t until 14th September but more information will be circulated once details are finalised.
